Sorry to thread jack but I have to ask. Is TC Sounds back in business? I have a 15" ti-cone TC-3000 w/ twin 15" passives and have been looking to try either a ported or sealed configuration. Is the new axis a dual VC? I love mt 3000 but the quad 2 ohm cv's really limit their configurations. I have yet to try and run my EP2500 at 2 ohms because I am afraid it would not hold up. And 8 ohms year really get get an amps full potential. Even with the huge EP2500.
Back tot he original topic, I would say I am totally happy with my setup though. It cost about $1400 or so with everything (back when TC's were cheap). It will rattle things off the kitchen island on the opposite side of the house so it really get the job done. However I think the narrow band of the passive layout severely limits its musical abilities. It is more or less an LFE bruiser at this point. I really thing there is not much that will beat it for several thousand dollars. I am sure it could be reworked to sounds even better too.
