2018 MUSIC ON VINYL 2-LP EUROPEAN IMPORT
Just received this as a holiday gift from the wife, per my wish list, but I was somewhat disappointed to learn that key tracks were left off this (in retrospect, the Very Best Of
CD I owned for years is more encompassing in many ways), including "Misled," "Tonight," "Stone Love" and "Hi Di Ho." To add some insult to injury, the version of "Peacemaker" -- an awesome track from their Forever
album -- used here was some kind of odd remix that just killed the vibe of the song. IMO, they could have cut a heck of a lot of the early instrumental funk stuff on the first side of the first LP, as well as eliminated the useless Spanish version of "Celebration" included to close out the album, to make room for much better songs by this iconic group.
I feel like Music on Vinyl dropped the ball a little here.

Received this as a holiday gift from the wife, based on my want list -- unfortunately, it has to be exchanged because there's a little warp on the final side (when "Isn't it Midnight" -- one of my favorite songs on here -- starts) and it's causing skipping throughout the first track.

This is my first official MoFi 45RPM pressing (I have a Silver Label pressing of Men at Work's Business as Usual)
and it was somewhat disappointing; this may not have been MoFi's fault, as it came through a third-party vendor online and may have been improperly stored, etc. All of that being said -- WOW. I didn't think I'd hear much of a difference between my original U.S. Warner Bros. pressing (I also have the CD, as this is a favorite album of mine, and had the cassette when it first came out) and the MoFi because my system isn't super high-end, but both my wife and I did -- it was like a veil was lifted off this production. Rich, punchy bass (Mick's drums never pounded so hard with my tone controls at 12:00) complemented by an almost live-in-your-listening room delivery of the music.
My wife usually doesn't appreciate sonic differences when we're in front of the hi-fi, nor does she even realize when I play an "upgraded" version of an LP, but she did on Tango
-- immediately, she said she heard the difference between our original vinyl copy and the MoFi, and while she wasn't a fan of the album before, she totally enjoyed it via this two-LP 45RPM release.
Of course, the price paid is that I have to get up more times to flip the records because there's three tracks to a side, but we all know how that goes. Just have to go through the exchange process now...
(*I understand that some early pressings of this had some issues with EQ and sound quality, specifically on the first LP of the set, and that MoFi repressed them and sent out replacements, but I didn't hear any such issues; we probably got a "corrected" version,)
