What to get (noobish question)

Howdy, I am looking to get something for my "home theater", but am not sure what route to go in. I currently have a Yamaha RX-V740 receiver with a pair of Klipsch RB-25.

I am thinking of either getting a different pair of speakers or getting a small sub(HSU VTF-1). I am looking at Klipsch rb-61, PSB B25/T45/T5, Monitor B2/B4, KEF iQ3 ,or Energy RC-10. These speakers would be used about 90% or HT or gaming and the rest for music(hardcore, punk, metal). If anything I would like the speakers to have better bass/mid bass than my current klipsch.

One thing that has me worried is that my receiver won't be able to handle the speakers that are 6 ohm. I have read a couple threads that have mentioned to stick with 8 ohm speakers if they would be run from a lower end receiver. Is that true? If so I guess that would leave a lot less options to look at.

Either way I go I won't be able to add anything else for quit a while if that would add into the equation. I don't have any dealers close so auditioning them isn't possible at the moment. I have a feeling that the T5 might be the way to go ($475 from Upscaleaudio) but am not sure.

thanks for the help

I have a Technics SX940 receiver driving a complete PSB Image series speakers without problems. Your Yamaha is certainly more stout than my Technics.
