I recently sold my house which had a huge room of over 700sq ft. for my projector and speakers. the small house i bought is 699 square ft the question I have is they are going to redo the basement take out a wall and extend my living space by eliminating a bedroom. which will give me 22ft in length not huge but oh well. but the ceiling to the floor is only 7ft will my projector still work in there or do I need to go to a ultra short throw setup? no I dont want a TV I want to keep my 3D going which I have alot of. thanks for any input

My basement's ceiling is only ~90" and the midline of my projector is ~6' (there is a 12" support beam below the ceiling it has to get under from it's mount position). It's doing 106" from a ~11.5' throw.

I'd say it will depend on clearance and mounting distance but I don't think that ceiling height is an outright dealbreaker.

Did you do the projector setup in the last house? Projectors are adjustable so that you can create a rectangular image for various installation heights, so having a lower ceiling should not reduce image quality. I think it will be more about sight lines. Think about how high the top of the screen will be and how low the projector will hang from the ceiling. Make sure that when seated the projector will not block any of the screen. 22 feet sounds like you should have enough distance but that depends on how wide the screen is. The user manual may help you there or you could contact the manufacturer and ask what is the closest you can go with a given screen width. I think the support number is 1-800-241-5794 or (562) 276-4382. One of the Epson Support Team replies on the web page says that this projector includes free life time technical support:

Ceiling height doesn't dictate whether or not you can use a projector.
You can still use it. It may limit screen size or it may not. Then again screen size is based on throw distance capability of projector and how far projector is from the screen.
Short distance and it's smaller. Longer distance often means larger screen.

A 7ft ceiling is definitely workable for a traditional projector, especially with a 22ft room length you’ll just need to be mindful of screen size and projector mounting height/lens offset. Unless throw distance becomes a problem, I’d stay with a standard projector since UST options for high-quality 3D are still pretty limited compared to dedicated long-throw home theater models.

so the wall is out i pulled out the screen 106 but since my ceiling to floor is only under 7t the screen comes down to low 58 inches from the top of the mech cover to the bottom of the screen. people said dont lower it so low so instead of 58 go to 50 according to epson she said you can do this would it look funny? would the picture look distorted? if I bought a new screen what size would work best for the length? the room is ceiling to floor 6ft 10 length 21 ft across is 10ft 7 inches. seems like I go to extremes my other house I posted pics my theater room was over 700 sq ft with sloped ceiling up to over 25 ft I had atmos speakers lowered and connected to chain . I want to keep my projector because I still buy 3D
