What to do! Polk vs. Paradigm? 7.1 and 6 other speakers

I have recently added an addition onto my house, and before I finish anything (just framed, no drywall) I wanted to run my speaker wire. My sun room (entertainment room) is 24ft x 10ft, and I will also put 4 speakers in garage and 2 on my deck for music. I want to put a 7.1 sound system in the sun room (along 24ft side the tv/projector will be placed). I am wondering 3 things:
Where to place the speakers? (like this? audioholics.com/images/img2.jpg)
Do I do all ceiling speakers or a better sound with wall mount and ceiling for rears?
And what to get? How is Polk vs. Paradigm?
I have $2000-3000 to spend total (only on audio stuff, no tv yet).

In the $200 price-range, I would get the NHT in-wall speakers:

I have not yet heard a pair of NHT speakers that didn't sound very good.

If you don't have to do in-wall and can do bookshelf speakers, I would recommend the NHT Absolute Zero:

I have never seen any speaker at any price measure better than the Absolute Zero from 200Hz-10kHz on Home Theater Magazine.

Without getting involved in specifics...

First off, when you watch a movie, do you really think it will be acceptable to have the main sound coming from the ceiling as opposed to the same plane as the picture?

I've never been overly impressed with any Polk speakers I've heard, but I've not heard them all.

The Paradigms are definitely an upgrade!

Is the TV going along the 10'/24' wall? Either way, I would say a 5.1 system will be sufficient with 3-in-walls up front. If you're facing the 10' wall, you could use either in-wall/ceilings for the surrounds, if the 24' wall, then in-walls for the surrounds.

An Axiom 5xM3/EP350 sub combo will run C$1650.

I hate to rain on your parade, but a sunroom is a piss-poor room for a home theater. A home theater should be dark, like a real theater. There is a reason why they don't tend to have large windows, or any windows, in a real theater.

yes,IMO
when I was shopping center channel speakers( I had different speakers all together)
anyway,
I ordered a Infinity cc,I did'nt really like it,but before I returned it,I bought a Definitive technology cc and a paradigm cc,had them all at home to test them,and yes,the paradigm blew away the others,so much so,that I ended up going all paradigm,and have not regretted it,I love my system(60% TV/30% movies/10% music).

so I say yes,paradigm is worth the $
