What to do if speaker has Bi wire hookup and receiver doesnt?

I am looking into a klipsch RC-3 center channel to go with my JBL S310s but the center has BI wire hookup and the receiver (yamaha rv365) does not. What do I do? Also if anyone has experience with this center channel would you recommend it?

That speaker will come with a jumper between the two sets of terminals. Just connect the speaker to either set of terminals and make sure the jumpers are connected. Bi-wiring does nothing.

its a good center channel if you like klipsch.

speakers with bi-wire hookups should come with "bridge connectors" in the form of a flat metal bar running from the two pairs of binding posts or "wire jumpers"

in the absence of the above, you can wire two wires to each of the binding posts both connected to the single pair on your receiver.

in short, it's no problem.

In short, the answer may be to do nothing. Bi-wiring may have little to no audible effect, especially with a center speaker.

Bi-wiring is done on the speaker side of the wire run, not the amplifier side; its done by interdependently wiring a speaker's HF and LF drivers to the same amplifier channel. So technically, any receiver can be bi-wired. Whether it's worth it or not is another matter...

I bought the speaker of a guy on craigslist and i hooked it up using one positive and negative and it has the bridge but one of the mids sounds like its a bit distorted. U think I may have been sold a damaged speaker or should i try hooking it up using both positives and negatives and see how it goes?

Make sure all four binding posts are very tight.

i noticed there is a small dent in the cone that sounds funny. Ive been robbed and thats why it is distorted isnt it?

Alright well its been confirmed that the center has a blown left speaker in it and the guy agreed to give me a refund. I am definitely just going to buy new. What center would u guys recommend to pair with jbl s310's? Jbl no longer makes the studio center for that series so I am gonna have to choose something else I was looking into the klipsch rc-52. What do you guys suggest? Should I go with the klipsch or get a JBL center?

Klipsch speakers are known for being somewhat bright, so it might not be so good a match to your current speakers.

However, if your receiver supports Audyssey or has an equivalent room/speaker equalization feature, then matching speaker timbre might not matter so much as it once did.

From what ive seen online you really cant get a decent center unless your willing to spend at least 300 so id say my budget would be in the 300-350 range. I was looking at the JBL LC2. I do wish i could just get the studio series but ive looked all over and I cant find it anywhere. What do you guys think of the LC2? Also my receiver doesnt support Audyssey or have automatic speaker equalization.

No true. There are plenty of sub 300 center channel options.

The best option is the same speaker as your L-R channels.

But any Infinity or JBL center would work.

If your L-R speakers aren't too far apart a center is usually unnecessary and sometimes makes the system worse.

The LC2 looks to be a very solid speaker. If you like your L-Rs it would be the ideal match IMO.

Your speakers have good enough drivers to warrant some mods if interested.
