Hey folks,
I am looking to go 7.1 in the near future. Right now I am using my VRX (dipole speakers) as surrounds. I have a pair of old Boston HD5 bookshelfs and a pair of CR9 (large bookshelfs) to use for the other 2 speakers. The CR9's have an 8" woofer and 1" tweeter.
My question is this: which speakers should I use as the speakers and which ones should be the rears. I was originally thinking of using the VRX's as the sides, and either the HD5's or CR9's as the rears. But I was thinking that maybe it would be better to have the VRX's as the rears with their ability to disperse the sound a little more than the regular direct sound that will come from either of my bookshelfs. Plus the CR9's are rather large, so I'm not sure how conducive they would be to being used as side speakers.
What should I do?
