What should I upgrade next??

Over the past few months I've been [slowly] upgrading my system from total crap to almost low-level-budget respectability.

I was wondering what I should upgrade next. FYI: I'm about 70% movies and 30% games for now. I'd like to keep the steps in upgrading small so anything over a couple of hundred bucks may be "right out".

What would you recommend next? [See below for what I have now]

--Get the display professionally calibrated. Overscan is too large / User level convergance settings aren't detailed enough so the edges of the screen don't have good alignment/convergance/etc. I've never even set color / contrast / brightness "excatly" right .....

-- Calibrate what I can on the display myself [if the above turns out to be bothersome]

-- Adding blackout blinds or similar so I can make the room DARK during the day if I desire.

-- Getting new front speakers [and a center] and rotate my current speakers back [Old Fronts-> Surrounds, Old Surrounds-> Rear Surrounds]

-- Rewiring some potentially sub-standard runs with some basic 12 AWG cable

Obviously if there's something I [as a newb] left out then let me know. Feel free to ask any questions if you want more info before giving a recommendation.

Currently I have:

Display: 1080i Toshiba Rear Projection HDTV [with DVI & HDCP]

Receiver: Yammy RX-V665 [4 HDMI and reasonable feature set]

Blu-Ray: Panny DMP-BD605 [seems to get the job done well enough]

Legacy DVD players: Enough for multiregion support and Closed Captions when needed

Game System: XBox 360 w/ component & optical connections

Sub: The worst ever [not Bose]. It's underpowered, muddy, boomy, etc. Note the wife HATES bass so the sub would likely only be on during the weekends while she's at work.

Front Speakers: They might be tolerable but that's about all.

Center & Surround Speakers: Voice & Mid-Range aren't too bad but lows & highs are simply bad.

Room: 12W x 8H x 25L. Carpeting with decent padding. 3 Windows along one side and an opening to the kitchen on the other side. No real treatment for either light or audio has been done. Walls are dry-wall and I don't have too much of an issue with noise leakage into the room.

Wiring & Connects: Most are cheap but serviceable

My suggestion would be to keep saving as much money as possible with a view to replacing your front 3 mains. Start auditioning now for a potential purchase 6 months to a year from now. Look in the range of speakers that are 2-3x what you think you can afford now and save until you can swing the speakers that really excite you.

Calibrate on your own. ISF will be a good amount.
I wouldn't bother with the wires, unless they are unsafe, frayed.
Blackout curtains are a great idea.
Room acoustics and speakers where its at.
