For receiver I would pick the Yamaha/Denon/Marantz that fit your budget and has all the features you need. I would suggest getting older high end model over newer lower end model if it has all features needed.

Didn't know about the Yamaha issue with that particular model. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, Kew. With that said I'd still look at other higher tier Adventage Yamahas as well:

The Marantz SR-5012 0r 6012 are good choices. The SR-1605 does not have Atmos.
