When I get my projector recalibrated after a new bulb, I always test the colors watching “Ambulance” and the new “Tomb Raider” with Alicia Vikander. The variation of colors and detail in the new “Tomb Raider” are crazy good. Plus, its pretty easy to look at Alicia Vikander for almost 2 hours.
After sound calibrations, I always watch “Blade Runner 2049”, “Pacific Rim“ and now “Top Gun Maverick”. The first 10 minutes of “Blade Runner 2049” is a torture test for bass, and goes incredibly low, tight and loud. The soundtrack is amazing. The battle scenes of “Pacific Rim” are bass tests as well, and all the speakers are actively engaged. I have a 9.5.6 system, and “Top Gun Maverick” does a great job of testing out the surrounds and Atmos speakers. Also, TGM has interesting bass. If you have the bass dialed in right, the explosions have impact. If you don‘t, they are just so-so.
