I bought a house that's wired for speakers, but I'm not sure what kind of cable it is and how to connect to speakers. The cable is blue and inside are four colored wires with copper inside. What is this and how do I connect to speakers? Thanks in advance

Can you see if there is any writing on the outer cable sleeve? I have some Beldon that has writing on it...

It is most likely 16/4 wire; ie 16 gauge, 4 conductor. You can use any two of the individual wires inside - one for negative and one for positive - for the speakers. Just be sure to use the same color at the speaker end and the receiver end.

Because there are 4 conductors, you can use one cable to wire two speakers or twist the wires together to increase the effective gauage. I forget the exact color of the conductors, but I think they are red, black, white, and green. By convention, you would use red and black for one speaker and white and green for another but it really doesn't matter as long as you use the same one on each end.
