What kind of person are you?

Dear all,

Quite some time ago, there was a program on one of our national t.v. channels. The aim was to determine whether a psycological theory which categorizes us as one of sixteen types of person was fairly accurate or not.

I took the test (which doesn't take very long to do), and found that the results agreed exactly with what I would consider myself to be; a nurturer.

Have a go; you may be surprised!

What do you think?

Not bad, although it claims I'm more about ideas than facts. I suppose that's true sometimes, but often it's "Just the facts, m'am."

So what were you classified as in the end?

Regards

By the way, I should note that the few people that I know who also took the test all broadly agreed with the results. Nobody thought the results were totally wrong.

I took the test and found out I'm a performer. While I would agree with half of the explanation, I would not the other. I didn't like the way some of the choices were lumped together. I could have chosen one or two out of at least a couple of the groups for almost every question. Some of it was dead on, however.
Now, if only all this would help me pick out my next TV. Of course, money would help as well. :p

I know what you mean, but if I remember correctly, that shouldn't matter; each question consists of two positive and two negative responses, so (I think) if you don't answer one, you will be caught ;) with the other. :)

It says I'm a resolver, which I totally disagree with. But then I don't think I fit into any of their personality types.

One of the shopping ones there were three answers I would have said yes too. And many MANY of the questions I didn't agree with any of them and simply chose one to get on with the test.

Ah well, by doing so, your results are null and void!

Biscuits! It's all good, Shadow Ferret. I just gave you a chicklet vote. I was exactly like that on many of the shopping questions. I would notice if they changed the aisles and would probably get jacked up about it at first, but would go on and roam up and down the aisles at random till I found what I wanted and then get over it. How dare they change things on me! Of course, they did a reset at Lowes this past week and I got some items for my house at 75% off. Change is a good thing after all.

Hmm..Big Thinker, and it fit me to a "T" I always like taking personality type test like that just to see if I agree with the results

Interesting test. I came out a Leader. It's somewhat true. In the past, I've always been in management roles. I'm glad to say I gave that middle management career path up to go into business for myself. It was quite a risk, going from financial management to construction/estimating, but with some hard work - financially its paying off. I've given those types of tests when interviewing on college campuses. People can really skew the test if they want to. You need to tell them up front there's no wrong answers (although the psychological tests I gave also dove into trust and honesty). Good post. A green chiclet for you, Spock. (BTW, there's no T in chiclet) :D

Creepy, mine was almost the same, except it said I was ideas more than facts. I find that wrong, but only half the time. Sometimes I'm a realist who loves the facts, but sometimes my head is stuck in the clouds.

Well, I find the results of this and the Myers-Briggs completely useless. The test simply will not allow you to be comprehensive--not that I would be in all respects. The categories simply are not exclusive--one can often cover both alternatives in any category.

That being said, they are good questions to think about.
