Looked it up. There are 12,000 known species of moth north of Mexico alone, and 125,000+ world wide. Good luck figuring it out.

Okay, but those jokes are hard to follow. It does look like it'd do Mach 3, at least.

It's some kind of Sphinx Moth. Which species I do not know. Maybe Cerisa's.

Imagine that thing crashing into your windshield @ 80 mph.

SPLAT!!!

Question: What's the last thing that goes through a bug's mind as it crashes into your windshield?

Answer: It's butt!

You didn't eat the poison sacs hidden in the tail meat, did you?

Of course you didn't. Obviously you had a skilled chef remove the colorless, tasteless venom sacs before you cooked it up.

That has to be the pimpest looking moth I have ever seen.

In the third link, when its showing off is dark spots, it looks like a snake (trick they do to scare away Clint).

Funny you mention hitting a windshield, coming back from a camping trip this summer, a bird flew right under the windshield wiper and wedged itself in opn my friends car (doing 120KPH). Everyone's jaw hit the floor as we looked at it, wondering if the wind would free it. My friend had to turn on the wipers and we all felt so awful afterwards. Civic - 1 Bird - 0. :(

I would take a mini-mothra over these things anytime, they are all over the area, and one of them was in my hair one night, and I about killed myself flailing around when I woke up with it on my forehead:

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://safari.zog.org/images/20041218_144708_DSC9288-thumb.jpg&imgrefurl=http://safari.zog.org/en/nurserywebspiders.cfm&h=200&w=212&sz=44&hl=en&start=6&tbnid=itmFUc6YAG3CfM:&tbnh=100&tbnw=106&prev=/images?q=+%22nursery+web+spiders%22&svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all

A mini-mothra would last about 5 seconds. My dogs would hunt it down, and try to eat it. Yuck...
The nursery web spiders seem to freak them out, they do a lot of dancing around before finally stomping it to death by rearing up like a horse and banging their front feet on them.
