Does anyone know what the distortion is on the left side of the picture? How do I correct it?

Perhaps you should rotate your picture ;)

If you are referring to the coloured bands or blotches my guess is that is compression artefacts from streaming content at a low bit rate. Not all TVs handle that particularly well either. Streaming over wifi has its issues as well.

You could try looking at various TV settings for smoothing and so on to see if it gets better, but what you took picture of (fairly uniform change of color) often gives rendering artefacts even in the best of conditions.

Haloing. Calibration should help correct that, but on a LCD it can be difficult to remove completely, depending on that model's capabilities.

As mentioned, the source may have it encoded already.

Just looks like a streaming artifact to me rather than being something in the tv particularly, but suppose could depend on your tv's picture setup. Or is this a blu-ray?
