Seriously, I have no life.
But an important part of this is, "how far from the front wall are the speakers located and how far from the back wall is the seating location?".

You're seating position should be the same distance from your front L/R speakers, as the distance between the your Left and Right speakers.

How ever far apart they are, that's how far back your seating positions should be.

Thats a good starting position to work with. If it sounds great, then perfect. However, depending on the interaction of teh room with the speakers, that may vary. I was forced by my other half to move out of equlateral triangle to an isoceles triangle becuase of decorating and I have not noticed any difference in the stero image.

My speakers are about 7 feet aprt and I'm back about 10 feet from the speakers. I was able to keep the position of the speaker alone. Its just the couch that moved back. :p

From what I've read it's supposed to be 1.5 times as far back as the distance between the front speakers.

6 feet of seperation would give you 9 feet of distance away.

The range is between a 40*~60* triangle. 1.4:1 would be about 40* = 8.4':6'

I have my L/R speakers 8 ft apart and the seat is 8.5~9 ft depending on the location of the recliner position. With the center 8ft away.
