Curious to see what new gear you guys got for Christmas?

I just ordered my Oppo BDP-83 from the Audioholics store. Also got a lablemaker to identify the maze of cables. A few new Blu rays. Did I mention "Ordered My Oppo". Sorry, a little excited. Can't wait to hand down the Sony BD to the wifes rig.

Congrats on the Oppo! I find myself a little jealous. :)

I didn't get an A/V gear for the holidays. I focused more on kitchen stuff. Not nearly as exciting as an Oppo... :D

Congrats on the Oppo as well.

No new gear here either. I got a few new Blu-rays and my wife decided I "needed" some over priced beanbags for extra seating in the theater. I don't really like them but I guess this is what happens when you finally get "buy in" from the wife. I wish she would have given me the money toward the new couch instead.

I did buy a Wii for the family so that may count as gear but it is not going in the theater.;)

Anyhoo enjoy the new Oppo.

I'm just starting: I got Ascend Sierra's L/C/R w/HTM 200SE surrounds and a Epson 8100 with a MaxStar 100" 16:9 fixed frame. Problem is, I'm going to integrate the screen into the living room. Wife's not to happy.

No A/V gear this year, I asked for tools :). Got a new tool box, an air compressor, brad/staple nailer, circular saw, 18V cordless drill & trim saw.

Forgot to mention I'm replacing my Bose 901's I had since 85' and my accoustimass I've had since 90'. Still have my old 100w Technics receiver. Have to wait for taxes to upgrade that, but it still runs great.

About a week ago I ordered an Ion "VCR-2-PC" converter from Sellout.Woot for about $30 including shipping. I figured for that price even if it was junk no fortune was lost. It can also convert any video source through front RCA composite video and audio jacks.

Well, it arrived on Christmas Eve so I've had some time to play with it. This thing sure makes conversion of VHS tapes to DVD's or mpeg files a real breeze. Of course the first thing I tried it on was my wedding tape from December 1986. Man, was I skinny then. I don't have many tapes worthy of saving, but this sure will make life easy.

Would I have paid full price? Hell no! But for $30 it's worth it. I haven't had a VCR in amost 10 years. Feels weird owning one again. So retro.

Although I got it early to take advantage of the sale, I got an Outlaw LFM1c Sub to replace my 10yo Sony sub. What a difference.

No new equipment for the main HT, but I did get some gear for my PC setup. Does it count as an HT if it has a real surround sound setup? Any who, wife got me a MIDI controller to go with Reason I bought myself a couple weeks ago and some other odds and ends peripherals that I've been needing with the cash endowments I received.

Bought the wife a Flip Mino HD- she's due with our first child in February so we figured it'd be good to have some sort of video camera.

For myself- nothing major this year. 6 BDs and a remote adapter for my PS3.
