The new albums from Godsmack, Tool, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and and couple tracks from the new Pearl Jam. Also have Collective Soul's album Youth and Trapt in rotation.

good stuff

Proto-Kaw, both their new one, "The Wait of Glory" and the earlier "Before Came After". Really enjoying Kerry Livgren's songs and they just seem to be having fun playing music that doesn't fit neatly into any particular category. For the uninitiated, this group is composed mostly of people that played in an early version of Kansas. Worth checking out for us prog rock fans!

From one "bull" to another, happy birthday. I've heard good things about the Knopfler-Harris disc, though I've not listened to it. I do have Deadwing and enjoy it quite a bit.

50?!?!??!?!?!? Well just make sure you do it up right!! I just celebrated 49 last week so I'll be joining you next year at the half century mark. As a suggestion you may also want to check out the cd 'Picture' by the band Kino. Ex PT drummer Chris Maitland joined by a who's who among proggers. This cd is *REALLY* growing on me, a little prog a little pop. The song, "Swimming in Women" - I listened to three or four times and suddenly the lightbulb went off (I know, I'm slow), aside from being a good song it really cracks me up.

Sublime - Jailhouse Not bad. The whole Sublime CD is pretty cool.

The Blasters, 4-11-44

Phil Alvin's "new" Blasters, sans Dave Alvin but with a new axe slinger. Different, but still rocks nonetheless, kinda in an evil Stray Cats style with a lot of rockabilly thrown in.

Top cuts, IMNSHO: Daddy Rolling Stone, Dry River, Precious Memories(The Only Hell My Momma Ever Raised) and Boneyard.

I've been playing the last couple Neko Case albums nearly nonstop for the last couple days. Fox Confessor Brings The Flood is astonishing, one of the best discs I've heard in years. I'll now have to buy the entire back catalog of her solo stuff and her stuff with The New Pornographers.

Nice! I'm a big fan of Neko, though (and I'm sure you know this) her solo work is nothing like The New Pornographers. I have all of their stuff. If you do like them (TNP), then you may also be interested in A.C. Newman's solo album that just came out last year, The Slow Wonder. It's solid. He's the main singer/songwriter for TNP (along with, to a lesser degree, Dan Bejar of Destroyer)

Had to jump in....it's not often I see many posts here about current, small-label indie stuff, which is my obsession. :D

My brother got me hooked on The New Pornographers a few months ago. I only have a few of there songs, but I really like them.
