Finally built some shelves for my speakers that got them away from the wall by a foot. They were attached directly to the wall before. They sounded good even when directly on wall but even better now that they are pulled out a foot. They are omnidirectional speakers so pulling them out gave them even more of a presence then before. They had a good presence to them before but now it is truly fantastic:D. Now to replace the Center with Mirage.

This is always good to hear. Congrats are in order. Do you mind to post some pics? This may be of some help to those dealing with the same kind of issues per se. Stuff like this is what makes this hobby so fun to be a part of. Kudos to you!!!!

Cheers,

Phil

Good to hear. Placement is so critical when it comes to getting good sound from speakers. :)

Its amazing how much a little tweak like that can help. Costs nothing, or next to nothing to do.

I have a request to ask of you. Try pulling them out further, even if just on temporary stands, and tell me what you think. Try 3ft. Try 4ft.

Then, I would also consider acoustic panels directly behind the omnipolars. I would imagine that if this type of setup is anything like with my dipoles, ridding that direct reflection will reduce comb filtering and make your audio sound a lot more clear and tight.

Well, that's what happened with me.

Room placement means an aweful lot. Infact when dealing with bass frequencies the room almost has more effect on a systems performance than the speakers themselves do!
