Recently I've been looking into getting some nice "Old Skool" Speakers, I stumbled upon Wharfedale Glendales, My mate happens to have some and he says they're very good for what he uses them for, and back in the 70's they were pretty much used in every club (supposedley). How do Glendales or other similar Wharfedales (Lintons, Dovedales etc.) rate in the overall scheme of things?

Also does anyone have some Glendales for sale? I'm not looking for Audio perfection or anything like, (Must seem like Blastphemy putting that in this forum!) Just some nice, Retro, Bassy Speakers to go in my room, if the cabinets look a bit beaten I'm not fussed either.

Cheers.

Paul.

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum.

I am a "new skool" owner of wharfedales and I really like them. The only place I have seen any listings of "classic" wharfedales is over on ebay. There are not any glendales listed now but there are other older models there. The UK is where you are going to see more of these. They are a bit hard to find in the US.

Yeah, Cheers for the welcome, I've got the the country thing sorted, Luckily I live in the UK, so that bits all good :). There is some Lintons mooching around on Ebay, but they look really Odd, some have tweeters, and some don't?!

Kind of ironic how they were built 10 miles away from where I live and I can't find any!
