Hi, recently I bought a Wharfedale WH-208 subwoofer and since I am a newbie in hi-fi systems, I wasn't very particular about the model (new or old) but I tried searching it on the net but couldn't find any info (at least in English) so I wrote the distributor of Wharfedale and they responded that this WH-208 was quite an old product of them and they are are not selling this anymore, it's not even in their website anymore. Well, a bit disappointed knowing this but at least the sub works fine for me. Anyway, I would like to ask if anybody has had this sub before and what can you say about it's performance (I really would love to hear it coming from all the gurus here in the forum). Thank you.

Found this, looks like it has a 8" woofer, 100Watt amp with a frequency response of 50-170Hz.

How much did you pay for it? Those figures ain't very flattering, I'd expect a subwoofer to go a lot lower than that. But if you're happy you should probably ignore me and enjoy your new toy;)

A few years back, I acquired Wharfedale Topaz 12(12") subwoofer and was able to compare it with my similarly priced Velodyne CT100(10"). Let's just say, I still have the CT100(now in our bedroom system) and not the Topaz!

cheers:)

Hi MACCA350,

Thanks for taking time looking for this and for the response.

Ya, I know based on my latest researches that this one I got is not that impressive for a Sub but since I'm quite new in this area, I might as well enjoy it for now and probably when the budget permits, WAF :) , I'm going for a system upgrade soon...

Thanks again....
