Wharfedale or Infinity

hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a couple of entry level standfloor speakers, and I found two equally priced sets (around EUR 400/set):

1. Wharfedale Diamond 9.5
2. Infinity BETA 40

Which one should I choose?
Since the budget only stretches that far, what is a good SH amp I should go for? I would use speakers 30% for music (metal, jazz) and 70% for HT.

Thanks
C.

Well, thank you all for your invaluable help, I dont know what I would have done without you. Thanks, thanks, thanks

I finally went with Wharfedale (got them yesterday) but I still need a good amplif to power the set. Any ideas?

you should have gotten the Infinities

seriously though, I'm sure you listened to these speakers and THEN made your decision, correct? because whatever we say, it doesn't matter because you are the one who's going to be listening to them.

re: the amp

you mean integrated amp, receiver or just plain external amp?

what is your budget? what wattage do you want?

I haven't heard Wharfedale speakers in a long time, but the ones I heard some time ago reminded me of Mordaunts. I'd be curious how the new ones sound. Infinity was never my cup of tea, but still good speakers.
