I just pulled the trigger and ordered a black one online at there website, im pretty excited because I do beleive this is going to be my first real sub. Thanks everyone for all your help in my decision since theres so many options out there and as usual everyone here made it a lot easier for me to decide . I think im going to have more base then I know what to do with but i'll find a way to utilise it :D Also a big thanks goes out to Mike C to For also answering many of my questions and to Ron at SVS For replying to one of my Emails on a sunday night !!! Now thats good customer service :)

Wow, you are really pulling together a great system! That SVS is sure to impress. I really, really like mine. And Ron is great - he used to send me e-mails on the weekends, too. Their customer service (in my case, anyway) was just as great after the sale as before.

Sub Setup ?

Also while im thinking about it I might need some help for a starting point for my new sub as far as freq setting ect. My current setup as in my sig I have my freq set at 50 on my receiver and off on my sub and all my speakers set to large. So my question is would that be a good starting point for my new sub as far as for movies and music?

"small" 80-100Hz

Quick starting point : Just MHO. Especially for movies and TV, you may want to set sub gain flat for music.

1. Set all speakers at same level with SPL ( I use 85 dB), the set sub hot by +3 dB to +10 dB ( 88 dB to 95 dB; again for music you might want it flat, i.e. 85 dB same as your other speakers).

2. Set front speakers to "small" ( this has nothing to do with the front speaker size, it activate the subwoofer crossover frequency). Make sure sub=yes

3. Make sure any crossover frequency on your sub is disabled (uppper cutoff set as high as it will go, e.g. 180 Hz); you will use AVR for crossover frequency

4. Set the AVR crossover frequency, a good starting place is 80Hz or 100 Hz; if your front speakers sound good at low frequencies you can set it even lower. Try a good movie with some deep bass and experiment.

5. If your sub sounds boomy, probably not with an SVS ..they are great. You can sub crawl. That is try moving he sub to diffferent palces in you listening room to get the best sound.

Good Luck ! ... AND ENJOY :)

P.S.- Relocated my sub to the back of my den last night in preparation for new audio TV furniture and new TV

NO set your fronts to "small" so the AVR will will crossover the lower front speaker frequencies to the sub.

If it were me I would only use the SVS sub.

If you have two subs, then it is recommended they be the same. But since that doesn't always ocur in real life you can use two different subs. If the room is large, maybe two would work, but it involves a whole look more tweaking and messing and setting and moving. Try the SVS and if it doesn't compeltely blow you away, you may then also connect the DPS10.

Good Luck!

So in order to diable the crossover frequency I turn it clockwise all the way up ? If so thats the opposite of my DPS 10 because its counter clock wise to disable it . Just wanted to make sure im a little slow sometimes lol ;)

To disable the crossover on the sub, you could just flip the switch on the back for the crossover to the "DISABLED" setting.
