In my rental house I have a used pair that I picked up at a place that refurbs and resells them cheap. I think the pair cost me about $300 for super capacity and they were 2yrs old in perfect working order. That was 5 years ago and aside from a heater core going out, I've had no issues with them.
At my real home I have these Whirlpool Duet front loaders. I read the reviews and they were mixed, but they were mixed for pretty much every unit out there and these were on sale, so I bought them and I am VERY happy with them so far. I live out in the country, so I wanted the ones that use the least amount of water.
