I knew you guys wouldn't let me down. Lots of ideas.

Another one I didn't see mentioned but heard about recently is the Boston Acoustics A25. They can be found in the sub $300 range.

I was hoping for an opinion on the Aperions. I figured someone around here might have tried them.

I'm not in any rush but I'm tempted to take a flier on the SM350s. I'm equally tempted by the Energy RC-10.

I decided to order the Energy RC-10s. Vann's has them in black for $220.

I think you will like the sound quality enough that you will end up getting sub sooner than later.

Would like to hear your thoughts on them once you get them.

Eager to hear your impressions of these speakers. I'm in the same price range so that will be a great help to me.

I got the speakers today. They really look nice. The finish looks really good. The binding posts are big metal things, not the cheap plastic nuts you usually get at this price point. There are two sets of posts in case you are into buy-wiring.

I didn't get a chance to listen to much. I turned on the radio and heard part of a song by Five Finger Death Punch. Then I turned on my DVD player which had Graceland already loaded. I listened to The Boy in the Bubble. The bass guitar sounded good. So far these speakers seem to have a nice bottom end.

I'll have to play some more music through them tomorrow and try to post some better impressions. Also, I tried to attach a picture from Dropbox but it didn't show up in the preview. I'll have to figure out something else.

I can add a little since I have had more time to listen to the RC-10s.

I don't really have them set up in a way that lends itself well to imaging. I expect that they would image fine if I did.

I'm not in a big hurry to get a sub. For music, they really go deep enough that kick drum sounds good. The bass doesn't sound exaggerated but just right. Also, this is not my main system. I think the Energys would be fine in a main system but I like my Paradigms better.

Where I may come to want a sub is for video games. I have my old Xbox in this system. I have some old games I'll want to play again but my limited gaming time generally gets spent on the Xbox 360 in my main system.

I'm still trying to get a handle on the treble response. The midrange is pretty good and seems accurate to me. I hear a little sibilance on some material but haven't been able to tell how much of that is the speakers and if any of that is in the recordings.
