Get some strong magnets and you're there. Sure just looks like an electromagnetic base plate with a magnetic ring that levitates. Notice that everything they put above it has that ring embedded in it.

Well, half-ways, anyways. The tricky part is designing the EM field to contain the magnetic ring. Otherwise, it would tend to scoot away.
