Thanks,

I really like the 803d's and it is available here in Cape Town. Do you think the p10 has got what it takes to justify the 803's?

I really know nothing about that amp. It is the first time I have heard about Plinius Audio.

The 803D's are efficient speakers, but they also like power. Their specs say "Recommended Amplifier Power 50W – 500W into 8Ω on unclipped programme".

I'm sure your amp will drive them. The question is will it drive them to get full dynamics out of them?

My little 125 wpc Rotel was driving B&W 803S's in splendid fashion during my amp shopping. I'm sure any amp that's better than my little Rotel will drive the 803D's just fine, as well.

Big difference in the power handling between the 803S & 803D's.

Recommended Amplifier Power 50W - 250W into 8Ω on unclipped programme

Paradigm Signature S8. I think they retail for about 6-7,000 a pair. I heard a pair of these about a year ago and they simply blew me away.

AV123 LS series

AV123 will be offering the LS6 and LS9 line array speakers in the $3-6k price range that would be great for a 2 channel system in a large room. They start shipping this month. Their Onix Strat Mini's are a full range speaker that would work better for a smaller 2 channel system for about $2k/pair.

I am pretty sure that you don't want to go the Internet Direct way, as freight from USA to S.A. would be expensive. So, buying locally will probably be your best bet. Paradigm, Monitor Audio, PSB, B&W, Sonus, and Linn are probably available in your area, and all of them make good speakers in that range, so I recommend to audition all you can.

Paradigm: http://www.audiospecialists.co.za/

Monitor Audio: ????

PSB: http://www.avspecialists.co.za/ They also have Mission speakers.

You guys know your speakers but let me tell you the people in New Zealand at Plinius Audio do know how to build an power amp.
....but then again we know how to play rugby and cricket(little bragging).Check the P10 out on www.pliniusaudio.com and give me your opinion on whether the plinius p10 will be able the b&w 803d's with ease.
