Whats up guys? I am needing to find some wall plates for my speaker wire to come out of the wall with. I hear them referenced as "nose plates" and have no idea where to buy them. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?? I am looking for Light Almond color too if available.

Thanks in advance

Sorry guys, i guess I didnt explain what I am wanting good enough.. I am not wanting a plate that you stick terminals onto. I am actually going to be having my wires sticking out from the wall and I have enough slack to directly terminate them into the receiver. I know there is a wall plate that basically looks like a nose and the bottom side of it is completely open so the wires can stick out from the wall. The plates main purpose is to just make the wall look good instead of having a hole in the wall. Hope you guys get what Im needing now.

You can get a blank wall plate and drill the required holes to bring out the wires. Lowes and Home Depot carry them for about $.58

I think I know exactly what you are looking for. We usa a bunch of that kind of plate at work for network cables; it's just a blank wall plate with a little square hole in the middle for the cable to run thorugh. I'm not sure where they get them, but Home Deopt or possibly a networking supply place would be likely suspects.

I have seen ones with pre drilled holes in them already. Drilling it yourself is not easy as the plate can crack very easy. ;)

The square holes usually for cat 5 type female connectors pressed into the plates. There are some with round holes.

You hit the nail right on the head... That is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks a ton.

Curious, why are you looking for these instead of the professional looking plates with connectors of various types? It will not degrade the performance and you can relocate speakers at will. ;)

I had a very good experience with supercellaudio.com for wall plates, which I learned of from this forum. They were very responsive to questions and will make custom changes to their stock plates. I got a single gang plate with brass terminals for two pairs of speakers, which they customized by adding a rca terminal for a sub connection. With the modification, and shipping, it was still less expensive than the 2 pair plate from RS w/o the rca jack. Charged actual shipping and used USPS Priority Mail (my fav shipping method). Also very fast turnaround. Rare these days to be so impressed with a company.

Im not sure I fully understand your question... IMO, I think these plates are about as professional looking as it gets and the reason I am wanting this instead of the connector plates is because they do not make a wall plate that has the connectors needed for a 6.1 setup with a coax sub line. Secondly, any time you end a run with a connector, there is degradation. Probably not enough to ever notice, but there is some. I dont understand why you say I cant relocate speakers at will... One can just as easy as if there were connector plates. Also, I am only wanting to use this "nose" plate where all of my cables come out of the wall at the receiver. At the speakers, I am going to buy blank plates and just drill a tiny hole in them for the line. There is no chance of cracking the blanks if you get the good quality nylon ones that any electrical supply house will carry. You only have to worry about the crap ones you buy at Lowe's or Home Depot.

As said... You could go with keystone time (Quickport/Versaport) type wall plates and just buy individual connectors which provides a very professional appearance for when you move - no wires hangin' outta the wall.

While this is what I am doing, I have also weighed it against the possible signal loss and am willing to accept it. I have no idea how long I will be living in my current house, those expectations are about 2-3 years. So, knowing I will move out, I decided to terminate everything clean to the wall, and use jumpers to the speakers/equipment.

I didn't have a couple of plates I needed so I drilled some holes in my 39 cent Home Depot covers and it worked perfect - but getting the hole centered while hand holding it and the drill was definitely impossible. ;)

Ain't it all great? So many options, so many opinions on everthing!

OK. Now that I understand where you want this plate, behind the receiver, yes, that will not affect any speaker relocation.
This plate to me looks like a setup in a commercial place/office where looks is not that important, even behing a rack, which is fine. I much prefer the cleaner looking plates.
You can always have larger electric box in which you can mount two or three devices that have the speaker and RCA type connections.
As to signal loss, you may need a laboratory grade measuring instrument to find that loss. Certainly not audible or measure with ordinary instruments. If you are worried about losses, you better have one continuous wire from the receiver to the speakers, or better yet, powered speakers witht he amps built in?

Dear lord no! Line level audio signals are horrendously susceptible to interference and noise! At the very least it needs to be a balanced analog connection to the speakers if not full digital.

Meridian baby! Sweet.

Well, yes, robust digital as close to the speakers as possible is the way to go but while the concept is great, how good are those speakers?

Ummm... They sounded phenomenal to me when A-B compared to B&W Nautilus 801s (I believe - they may have been 800s)

Not that I did extensive testing with them or would care to make to many comments on speakers that are far more expensive than I would consider owning. I try not to focus to much on Diablo class products. They are interesting, but not worth my time when there are excellent values and great performance for so much less.
