Wall-mounting a heavy bookshelf speaker...possible w/drywall?

Good idea, but I think the protruding binding posts would prevent that on the 2.1s.

Ya, that would be a problem.
My JBL PT800s have recessed binding posts, as they are designed to be wall mounted, and the 30 year old L212 posts are on the bottom.

One last question before I tackle this: I have to put the speakers about 5-6 feet above the listening position. Is it better to have them mounted at a 90 degree angle firing straight at eachother, or mount them at a downward angle so they're aimed at the couch?

With the brackets I posted earlier in this thread, you can do both tilt and turn them to get what you want. ;)
