Wall Mounted Speakers

Hi,

If I were to mount my speakers (B&W 685) on the wall, at which height should I place them? I mostly listen to music seated, but obviously not all the time, so I'd like to have a rather flexible listening area, so to say.
I know that the tweeters optimally should be at ear level, but I think that would be impossible (and it sure looks weird to have speakers mounted on the wall at knee height! ).
So, is it a good idea to mount them pretty near the ceiling, say, 200 cm above the floor, and angle them down towards my sofa where I usually listen to music? That way the sound would be directed towards my main listening area, while passing by at approximate ear level while standing up (or dancing!). Or how do people do this?

I would not place these on the wall. They need to be on stands and 12'' out from the wall.

Even with the speakers pointed at the listening position, having boundaries so close to the speakers will drastically alter their frequency response from what the designers intended.

If you can perform a listening comparison between on (or near) wall and stand mounted, you may want to do so.
