VTF-3 Mk2 vs Athena P6000/Velodyne DPS 12

I have a question about these two subs and would like to hear your opinions. Obviously the VTF-3 MK2 is a better sub, but it is going for $1000 Canadian. I have heard some good things about the Athena P6000 and the Velodyne DPS 12 which are both around $600 Canadian. My question to you guys is, is the VTF-3 worth the extra $400-$500? My goal for a sub is to have nice crisp bass for HT. An my room is about 16x15 with 8"ceiling. All opinions are welcome, thanks

The DPS-12 was selling for $429 at FS earlier this week. I picked one up. You can always return it within 30 days if you didn't like it.

The Athena might have more slam, but the Velodyne is cleaner.

Depends on your listening tastes. For movies ONLY, I would grab 2 Athena's. For a music movie split, definitely the Velodyne's.

I don't know, I havent heard either.

BUT, if I had to take a stab at it going purely by specs, I'd give it to the VTF-3.

Hey guys, I got the VTF-3 MK2 yesterday. . . . . . . and this thing is a BEAST!!! I am super happy with this sub. It produces very clear bass. For anyone else who is thinking about getting this sub do it.
