VSX-91TXH sub problem

I have a VSX-91TXH receiver and I love it. I have a problem with the subwoofer, though. When I use a dolby digital source like HDTV or a DVD, I get great sound and the subwoofer works. However, when I use non-HD source like regular cable TV, the subwoofer does not work. I use PL II Music setting. I've tried the other settings too, but I can't get any action out of the subwoofer.

The sub is an MTX SW2. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Do you have all of your speakers set to large? If so, only the LFE track would go to the sub - that track exists in Dolby Digital, but I don't believe there's any equivalent in matrixed surround (like Pro-Logic). So, the sub could get a signal from Dolby Digital sources, but not from regular cable.

If your speakers are set to small, or if you need help in finding out what your speakers are set at, please just let us know.

Funny...It seems to be working now. I don't know what I did, but it's all good. I had all the other speakers set to small. I did notice such a difference when I did that a while back, though. Thanks again for the prompt reply.
