VSX-82TXS or AVR-3806?

My father & I are looking @ these 2 recievers and can't decide between the 2.

The speakers that we'll most likely be going with are the Axiom Epic 60 500 6.1

Do you guys have specific recommendations of one reciever over the other?

While I haven't used the Pioneer before I have the Denon and like it very much. My biggest complaint about the unit would be its terrible manual which isn't that big of a deal because it doesn't take too long to get used too. The receivers should be able to push the speakers as well so its really up to you on if you like the looks and connectivity of the Denon or Pioneer more but I might nudge you in the way of the Denon a bit.

If you wanted to look elsewhere I would check out the newer line of Onkyo's.

I have the 3806 hooked to the M60's and I could not be happier. IMHO, it sounds better than the Yamaha HTR-5890 I was using before this.

No problems, no complaints.

I cannot compare it to the Pioneer. But then again, the receivers are very comparible. Maybe receiver features can help you decide... the Pioneer has video scaling and dedicated iPod port, the Denon does not.
