Thanks so much for your insight.......I did turn it on and tried Speakers A and B and still no sound....with the connections you referred to....Is there a way to meter the unit to see what might be wrong? I have it open and have cleaned it with Contact cleaner and vacuumed. Thanks ....anyone know what might be my next step??? Thanks Greg
Make absolutely sure you do not have the tape loop activated. That is the commonest mistake from people not from the tape recorder era. That means on your machine the tape out must be set to OFF and the correct input selected.
The next thing to try is you have no sound is to see if you have sound to the headphones. If you can hear the phones but there is no sound to the speakers, the unit is probably non working.
If you are not used to service then you are not likely to be able to repair this unit.
Unfortunately I don't think that is a high end enough unit to warrant repair.
If you do not hear headphone sound, then you probably still have a wrong setting.
