A while back I posted my troubles with an Onkyo 2ch receiver I was having troubles with. Replacing it with an older Marantz was the advice I got instead of having my Onkyo fixed. I see a whole lot of them on Ebay and I am wondering if anyone has some suggestions on which models I should look at.

See the group 3 receiver column (you'll need to scroll down).

Try for a 2250 or higher model, which is at least 50watts per channel RMS.
The first number designates the number of channels, the last two are the watts RMS. You really don't need their quad units (starting with a 4) as they aren't nearly as strong in two channel mode compared to the 2 series.

You may also want to check out vintage Pioneer and Sansui receivers. The website Buck gave you also has information on Pioneer receivers and you can check out audio karma dot org for info on vintage gear. Check out this link for Sansui info:
