I'm looking for some recommendations. I'm aware of the Monster version but I've sworn off of snake oil.

Avia can be ordered from Amazon.com, I think. It's a good one. It's for video and audio setup. Get an SPL meter from Radio Shack, and you're good to go, to calibrate your speakers too.................
Digital Video Essentials is another one. All the HT Tune Up discs, do both video and audio. Do a Google search for this one.
Also there's the Sound & Vision Tune Up disc. Find a link to it from here.......

Chalk up one vote for DVE. But then again, I've never used Avia. DVE does a heck of a job for me, and it's miles cheaper than Avia. Kind of a steep learning curve to figure the disc out, though.

cheers,

Thanks for the leads. The Amazon reviews on Avia and DVE were more confusing than the discs could ever be. Just another subject to read up on is all. I have an HK AVR 430 that has an SPL in the remote so my only area of interest is video adjustments for an HD Ready LCD.Thanks again.
