I find it Interesting that Focal makes all of their drivers in house in France. As most know, in the last few years China has placed an embargo on exporting their neodymium, and at this time virtually all neodymium mining is in China. This would explain why almost all driver manufacturing has moved to that country. Another use of rare earth metals like neodymium is for permanent magnet traction motors (synchronous AC) used in hybrid and electric cars. There is a new trend in the EV world for using non-rare earth materials in permanent magnet traction motors. Perhaps speaker driver motors can use rare earth free magnets and bring more driver manufacturing to Europe and the US
