I have heard that playing video games on plasma TV isnt a good idea. Does anyone know why? Or what to do in order to be able to play them without wrecking the screen?

Before we go into some explanations why video games and Plasma don't make a good pair, I would like you to read a few important articles about Plasma's burn out on this website:

It all depends how long you play video games and the type of video games.
You have to watch out mostly for score boards in video games left on for an extended periods of time that could cause permanent ghost images.
Please read some of these articles on the above website, I think they are very informative and will help you a lot.

Mr.T, you gave good advice and the articles answered some of my questions. So as long as I dont play games with any static scores etc, I should be ok.

Yes - or if you do play with static scores, then set a timer and turn it off after say - 20 or 30 minutes and do some other watching.

I think everyone has seen an old Pac Man game with PLAYER 1 permanently etched in the lower right corner.

There is a ton of information on DLP technology on this site or by Google. It is a projection technology that bascially uses an array of tiny mirrors with a projection bulb and a spinning colored wheel to create an image.

Rear projection or front projection - gotta replace the bulbs though.
