viable alternative

I didn't know if this should go in subs, DIY, or here but I chose here because it specifically concerns amps.

For the kappa build most people are using a EP2500 and a DCX2498 (right?). Total these are about $500

Minus the obvious decline in power, would this ( http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-806 or http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-808 ) be a viable alternative to those two products? It has some EQ and a decent power source.

Thoughts?

I'm not an expert on this, but it does look good to me. However, I ain't sure about the sound.

And I believe that you will get a better response in the "Subwoofer" thread.
Or perhaps the "DIY" thread.
Yep, the Sub's people should know, definitively; that will be your best viable alternative.
