VHS to DVD recording problems

Hey guys just need a quck analasys. My fellow co-worker is now moving his loved VHSs to DVD and hes got the video capture card on his computer. he says the video is recording fine but the sound is chopp. Any guesses as to what the problem may be?

If they were store bought movies, then there is Macrovision, copy protection the the VHS tapes. Kind of like copying a DVD, there is stuff there to protect the video.

hey trix, i figured out a way around the macrovision i think. either that or the bitrate was just defaulted to the wrong setting. seems as though setting the bitrate to 44khz as opposed to the default 48khz and the audio comes out fine. who knew. anyhow, just a little tidbit for any of you who are having the same issues i was :)
