Vertical Mount AV123 X-cs

Has anyone used the AV123 x-cs's in a vertical configuration? I'm just thinking ahead, as I have three of them on order for use as my front 3 channels, the left and right I plan to use vertically on speaker stands (30" Sanus stands), which I've already purchased.

It looks as though they may be a bit wobbly if I simply place them on the stands, due to their 20" vertical height, on top of a 30" stand placed on carpet.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar scenario and what (if any) solutions there are (if needed). :)

Thought I would dig up this old thread since I just ordered two more x-cs to match the on I am currently using as a center. I am wondering if anybody has found a good stand and way to mount these speakers vertically? I'm going to want a 24" stand. Fortunetaly the way I have my system setup now I will not need stands, but I will not be at the same place for a long time and will need stands for these in the near future. Also to anyone else who has the x-cs lcr configuration: how do you like it? So far I really like the x-cs as a center, so I think its going to sound awsome as a seemless front soundstage. Can't wait till they get here next week and I can try them out.

found a dirt cheap end table set that works perfect for holding these speakers, its 20" high with a 16" square top. Its a home essentials brand from k-mart. They are a black fake wood grain, with a shelf on the top and at the base, with grey plastic(but not terrible looking) legs. They might not be the classiest looking stands, but for 24.99, I couldn't pass it up. The hearth endup being two low for the speakers, and with these stands on top of the hearth they are actually a bit to high, but not by much, and when I do move they will be high enough to hold the speakers up at a good height from the floor. I toe my speaker is quite a bit, since they are a ways away from the tv, so having the 16" square top is nice so I can turn the speaker and it takes up most of the top of the stand. It actually looks pretty neat, only down side is nowhere to hide the speaker wire, minor detail. I tried to find a link for these, but I can't find them on the k-mart website. If anybody is looking for a cheap way to get a pair of x-cs off the ground, I would reccomend checking these out. I'm def happy with the way they look vs the amount of money I spent. But in the end, I am always more concerend about the way it sounds then the way it looks, rather save my money for a new reciever then spend in on expensive speaker stands.

Hey funked up - appreciate bumping my old thread, and I'm definitely curious to see how you like the configuration of triple x-cs's. Obviously at this point I went in another direction and got some SVS's, but I'd like to know what the results are of my other top choice (of two).

Keep me posted, and show some pics! :)

I'll have to bust out the girlfriends camera tonight and take some pics, then I'll just have to figure out how to get them onto the computer and then on to this forum. Never done that before, but consider myself a fairly bright guy, so I think I'll be able to figure it out. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have some pictures posted.

You don't need a camera to tell me how they sound do ya? :D That's what I'm really interested in, and it would be nice to see them setup too. :)

Thanks for the response at any rate. ;)

EDIT: Hey, nevermind I found your other thread in the systems gallery with the pics. :)
