As expected for ages and rumored for even longer, the announcement finally came today that Verizon will get the iPhone (for real!) on February 10th.

I had basically made the decision at Christmas to go to an iPhone, so I have $600+ in Apple Store gift card right now, and it looks like I can keep my Verizon account.

I would like to be extremely happy, but this is long overdue, and the glut of Android phones giving the iPhone a run for the money is pretty significant. Still, I am happy and looking forward to having something better than my 'Razr' which is just a bit outdated now.

Gizmodo was saying not to buy it because then it will be like only 6 months before the next generation one comes out and you will want that and yours will be out of style already :D

Android FTW.

I'd say don't buy it because it's overrated. The Droid Bionic is looking nice.

I am sure they will have fixed the call drop issue, but I really just don't like the iPhone that much. Never have.

I never noticed a call drop problem.

I would wait as someone else said, because the new iphone model shouldn't be too far away. Verizon ipad 2 will be nice too :D

The huge issue they had earlier this year with the iPhone 4 having reception problems. The Verizon model is supposed to have corrected this.

Lol, antennagate :p. My iphone lost a little signal when I covered all the edges, but when I tried at the apple store, none of them on display did it, nor did my moms.

Even if my phone didn't have the slight signal loss, I would still be using a case. I'm not klutzy with my gadgets, but I don't want to risk scratching or damaging it.

I'm not sure if they actually changed anything to fix it to be honest.

And either way, I've had the opportunity to use every version of the iPhone aside from the 4. Nothing particularly special there IMO, yes it's a bit different in some regards but not in all ways that are even good changes and anything that uses iTunes gets points taken off for me.

Wow, not a lot of iPhone love here is there guys? :)

Every single person I know who owns an iPhone is really happy with it. For me, I already have about 250 movies for the iPhone ready to go and my music pretty much organized in iTunes. My wife has a couple of years under her belt with the iPod touch (as do I) so while my company is going to Droids, I think we will give the iPhone a whirl for at least a couple of years.

Seriously, if you think the iPhone or Apple is evil... Try going to my Razr phone. :D You will wish for a Blackberry at that point, and my Blackberry is horrendous compared to an iPhone by far.

Still, rather be on Verizon than AT&T.

We have 3 iPhones and an iPod Touch in the house and they have all become little electronic companions...even with ATT, we have not had dropped calls, 3G problems or anything else for that matter. I know that lots of people don't like ATT, but the phone itself has been great and ATT has been OK. Considering that there still are more apps for the iPhone than any other platform, it's not a bad way to go.

I have a 3GS that is jailbroken because I couldn't stand AT&T's nonsense of making one pay $30 a month to tether my own minutes to my laptop. Works perfectly. Verizon plans to let users do this for free I hear.
I won't switch until they offer a better unit such as one with more storage (64GB) and or 4G capability.
I have no issues with dropped calls whatsoever. Poor coverage in certain areas? Yes. But I have noticed some improvement.

Well, I didn't get an iPhone because my contract with Verizon wasn't up until this past December. Then I just waited (based upon the rumors) and now we will just get them on Verizon. I'm actually going to wait until June (or whatever) and get the newest one since we just got Droids at my office I can live without an iPhone right now. But, my wife is going to the iPhone in February for sure. She's looking forward to it!

Due to updated IOS (4.3.1) Verizon iPhone 4 are first to get this feat. Supposedly AT&T will get it as well, later on.
No one said it will be free and pretty much known to cost extra.

Speaking of iPhone data plans - Verizon announced today than they will have LIMITED TIME offer for new Verizon iPhone 4 customers - $30 Unlimited data.
They also added this plan will NOT last they are not about to "shoot them-selfs
in the foot"

Wait for the second or third generation LTE-capable Verizon iPhone. The first one is going to need a fuel-cell backpack to have remotely substantial battery life.

Verizon iPhone Hotspot Functionality Will Cost $20 Come With 2GB Data Pool, $20 Per G

Yesterday Verizon waffled a little bit in terms of pricing for the new iPhone, first insisting they'd be offering unlimited data plans to new iPhone users -- then backpeddaling to note that they'd only be offering these unlimited data plans for a limited time (read: long enough to lure plenty of AT&T customers into new long-term contracts with high ETFs). Now Verizon has also dished the pricing on the iPhone's upcoming integrated hotspot feature, which allows users to share their connection with up to five devices. According to a conversation with MacWorld, the service will cost users an additional $20 a month on top of your existing data plan. However, the service will come with its own seperate 2GB monthly usage limit, after which users will be expected to pay $20 a gigabyte.

Here in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, for an IPhone you got AT&T which you can't complete a 2 minuteconversation without having to redial the person at least a couple of times, or now Verizon who feel perfectly comfortable raping their customers. After 4 years with Verizon, I just dropped them out of principle and switched to SPRINT. I just couldn't deal with the smuggness and attitude with them anymore while shopping for new smartphones for the family. Their attitude seemed to be "we have the best network so you're stupid if you're considering anyone else or are hesitant to pay considerably more to stay with us."

I had some reservations with Sprint, but it's been about 2 months now and I don't have any problems at all. Their customer service is 2nd to none. I pay $175/month for pretty much unlmited everything on 3 HTC EVO's.. which are just awsome.

The IPHONE is still probably the coolest thing out there, but I think the Android phones are catching up.

Anyone I've talked to on an iphone sounds like they're under water.

I've been tempted to look at smart phones.
Since a 'Man Purse' or European Shoulder Bag:D are out of the question; just wondering where a man puts such a big phone?
