With a concrete floor, you are going to want a bigger sub, and I do agree with Takeereasy, a 12" sub (a quality one anyway) is better than a 10". The PB-10 wasn't overwhelmed in my room, but it didn't quite move enough air. Performance was surprisingly good in my 19x20 room, and though it wasn't struggling, I wanted a little more. Given your location, I agree again with Takeereasy, that the STF-3 is probably a better choice and you won't be giving up anything in terms of quality.

The low freq. response of 25 hz. on the STF-3 does not sound as impressive as the SVS PB-10 or 12. But at least I can let my ears be the judge, I'm heading over to Powerline in Guelph over lunch to audition the HSU's.
Again, thanks all for the input!

I own a velodyne spl 800 and use it in my family room for party music. It is a killer sub and I love it. I also own an SVS pb12/ultra and use it for my home theater coupled with two subs that are integrated in my def tech bp2000s. I would not trade either one and especially regarding the application I use them for.
