price conscious consumers
Most "price conscious consumers" I am aware of wouldn't touch a $999 subwoofer with a 10' discount pole. Sony's $80 WM250?, Thats an inexpensive sub.

haha LOL. Its a sad reality though they wouldn't sweat dropping $15K on a plasma display to hook up to their compressed cable signal.

have the SPL 1000 series II

I have the SLP 1000 series II, which is a heck of a lot like the Mini vee, except it has a 10" woofer. I actually got it at Tweeter for less than 700 because it was on clearance. Its also a 1000 watt 2000 watt peak sub, and thus far I LOVE IT. I even wrote a review of it at epinions.com. I am not sure what the protocol is for posting URLs. If its okay this is the web address. http://www.epinions.com/content_197543628420 If its not cool, I'll take it down. My nick there is shopaholic man. Anyway I love it.

799.00 is the price I have seen on a regular basis.

Seems to me the Mini Vee is just an SPL-800 Series 2 with no EQ.

Correct.

Only one veneer too. I still don't see it as a budget solution.

To me, the price-conscious consumer, I ain't a spendin' $999 on a subwoofer that only goes down to 28hz.
