After reading reviews of both these sub's it seems like it's hard to go wrong with either. Does anyone have any feedback to help make a decision between the two?

There are a couple things about the VeloEQ15 that im not liking such as the light weight of it. That being said, it may measure well & sound great. So i cant make a definative comment on it. I can however comment on the VtF-15H. I wont sit here & claim that its the end all say all of subs just because i own one. I can however say that it is a wonderful sub & for the price it is an absolute homerun!! Will it dig as deep as a PB13 Ultra? No but with room gain it gets flat down to 16hz. It is a very musical sub & seems to be indestructable.

What will you be using the sub for...movies, tv, music?

What size is your room? Is i open to other areas? Total size?

You mentioned youve read about these subs so im sure youve been on these threads. As youve seen, we need more info to help give you pointers.

I too am looking forward to seeing how this sub compares to others in its class. Velo makes a good sub. Hsu also makes s great product & tends to be more performance per dollar in comparison. In the looks department i feel the Eq15 fails. I dig the look of the 15H myself.

Newbie here so I'm learning as I go :)

Source material will be about 75% movies, 25% music. The room is about 18x 32, with seating and sound stage at one end 18x15, with one side open to the remaining 15ft. Likely pairing with ML Source fronts, ML Motion 4 rears and ML Motion 8 center.

Just got my VTF-15 last week. It beats anything that I have auditioned in a person. I had researched subs for over a year...so much so...that I drove myself insane. All I ended up doing was second guessing myself once I read a bad online review. IMHO - I dont think you will be too disappointed with any sub in these price ranges. I pulled the trigger on the HSU and love it. SOmeone is always going to tell you that they did not like a sub, speaker, amp, etc. Both are good subs.

One thing that I will say...the local Velo dealer quit carrying their product last summer. The said they were starting to have problems with subs after the warranty was up. For instance if the sub carried a 2 year warranty it was almost clockwork that a few of would shoot craps after 25 months. Their words not mine...They had 2 JL fathoms in a their refernce listening room so I listened. Very impressive....HOWEVER...for the price of 1 of those subs you could get 5 VTF 15s.

MAke sure there is a good return policy on whatever 2 items you are looking at. I guarantee whatever you buy you will keep.

Hope it helps.

Thank you both for your feedback.

stl1cjg... I'm only a month into this and I'm at the same "driving myself insane" point. I can't imagine a year!
