$.02 was definitely an exaggeration. That being said, I was very much involved in negotiating manufacturing arrangements in China and Vietnam and was staggered at how little some people get paid.
It may be slight exaggeration but not far majority of Indian Labourers get paid in the range of 1.2 $ / day (approx $ 0.15 / hour)

What's even more staggering is how worse off those people would be if those companies left. When you hear stories about low wages, etc - remember that in most cases those people are happy to work for that wage and those companies typically provide jobs that weren't there before they came to town.

No so with Paradigm which are made "in-house"

and "ALL" is not a fair statement at all...the Linn's dont...Paradigms dont....I dont think B&W (not 100% on that but fairly sure), MLogans...just to name a few...I think lower and middle lines tend to use more from China but more dont then do

Guys,
I hate to burst bubbles here, but 99.9% of the drivers, cabinets, crossovers amplifiers and everything else is MADE IN CHINA. They might be assembled in the US but the components are made elsewhere. I don't believe there is a driver manufacturer still running in the US. So all of your Athena, Paradigm, Dif tech, and ALL the other more expensive ones, are using drivers from china.

Besides Velodyne, SVS was also impressed with JL Audio's drivers. That is what Tom V. told me.

Sorry to be off topic.

Are Eminence or TC sounds still manufacturing in the USA?

I asked him to name three. He stood back, thought for a moment, and replied with one company. I bet you'll never guess who it is.

I don’t think happiness is at issue, fair wages is. To that end, what appears to us as low wages paid in 3rd world countries is not necessarily unfair. Another concern is with the quality of product that is produced by unskilled labor. That could go either way. China is very capable of producing a high-quality product, as well as junk.
