Using TV as center channel speaker

I read somewhere a post title but never read the message...
Can this be done? If so how? I guess you would have to run a wire from the tv to the receivers center channel but I don't see how that is possible. Unless the person kept the TV's speakers on with the receiver, but then the left/right stereo speakers would compete with the TV's left/right speakers.

Thoughts??

I think you would be better off just running a phantom center or a 25 buck seperate center speaker. The $12 TV speakers just will not cut it.

I already have a cheap center speaker and no money for an upgrade (as I just bought the TV). I just thought that the newer Tv's may have better speakers in them than past TV's.

Thanks!

I agree 100%. There is really no advantage to using a poor quality, mismatched center (which is definitely what the TV speaker would be.) Phantom center will sound much better.
