Using Nakamichi AV-2 for home theater

I got a Nakamichi AV-2 receiver at a garage sale. My Philips HTIB system died and I couldn't fix it, despite great internet instructions (blown capacitor within the power sub). I'd like to use the AV-2 to power a 5.1 surround setup for home theater and music. I know the AV-2 (for which I have no owner's manual) has 5 channel capacity. But can I hook up a subwoofer too? And if so, any special requirements for it to be compatible w/ the receiver?

Well, I found this ebay listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Nakamichi-AV-2-Home-Theater-Receiver-Dolby-Pro-Logic-/140406713933#ht_5311wt_1165
With some good shots of back of AV-2
Not sure if you know it, but AV-2 is Dolby Pro Logic only receiver, which means the only way you get "5.1" out of it is by applying DPL logic to STEREO input signal, which is a far cry from real 5.1 surround.
Which inputs your htib sub has? Or even better post a picture of it's back...

Keep in mind this model is not real Nak, they were bought and sold several times re-using the brand name to sell their own products.
About this time I believe Grundig was the owner.

This is an old thread but I've seen this quote several times regarding the av2 not being real Nak. Absolutely not true. They didn't get assimilated until 98 or so, and the av2 came out in 93, shortly after the licensing agreement with threshold expired for Stasis. Knowing how business and product management generally operates, and judging from my own personal experience with this unit, it's safe to say its amplification genes are derived from, if not perfectly correlated to the Nak implementation of Stasis. It remains in my stack as a warm, highly musical piece. They are a steal for two channel use in source direct mode. The av2 is the reason I routinely field requests from friends to setup the audio for their large parties.

Av10 and the later stuff perhaps yes, av 1 and av2 from 93 are classic.
