Using a 75 ohm Video cable as a Sub RCA cable

Would there be any issue in using the 75ohm video cable as a home theater sub RCA? I know it will pass the signal, just don't know if it would degrade sound.

I found a high quality 75 ohm cable at a steal. It is 25 feet long, and would allow me to finally play with my sub placement.

You'll be fine. It wo't degrade the sound one bit.

Audio cables are typically 75 Ohm and in many cases are the same cable used to make interconnects.

What j garcia said. Renowned custom cable-maker Blue Jeans Cables uses 75-ohm cable stock for their audio interconnects. 'Nuff said.

One more time...

Nowadays pretty much all cables are 75 Ohm. In the past, some audio cables were 50 Ohm but it's easier and more economical to just make all cables from the same 75 Ohm stock and change the color on the RCA plug.

In other words, the only difference between a 75 Ohm 'video' cable and a cable marked as 'subwoofer' cable is the color of the boot around the RCA plug...and your equipment neither knows nor cares what color it is.
