I needed a new sub cable, but had a few component cables kicking around. Is that ok to use?
alandamp said:Sure. Why not? What are your reservations?
Component video cables may be specially designed to carry video frequencies, but I can't for the life of me think of a reason you couldn't use it as a subwoofer cable. If you are making your own cables, you can buy one kind of coaxial cable for both audio and video (all frequencies). I think flexibility in the cable is more of a consideration than anything.Vancouver said:not sure..component is a video cable and I am using it for audio? Maybe I am just a victom of marketing....so all 75 ohm cables are the same, with different packaging?
