I might be going to check out a used SVS PB2000 today and am curious what to check for when demoing it. The person says it's not very old but I'm not sure how old exactly yet.

Thanks in advance for any help offered!

Believe SVS will transfer warranty to a new owner so getting the exact info in that regard would be good. Otherwise just make sure it functions well and is aesthetically acceptable to you for the price....

Oh, that's good to know. I'll try and find out exactly how old it is then before finalizing anything.

Speaking of price, what would you think is fair (ballpark of course) as long as everything still works fine with no cosmetic issues? When checking the history of it I can't seem to find a time when it's dropped below $650 and that was a refurbished model I believe.

Well the list is $800, the current b-stock one in the outlet is $750.....if it were me I wouldn't pay more than $500....but then I don't want one :)

Check the driver to see that the surround is intact and in good shape (I suspect they will be, but this is common check on speakers in general).

You can check for physical blemishes on the enclosure; but that won't affect sound.

Otherwise, as mentioned, give it a good listening and make sure it's operational.

I'll let you guys know how it goes. Pretty excited as I'm coming from a much cheaper box set sub and have never heard a "real" one before :D.

Ended up buying it from the guy for $400! He said he had bought it a few years ago (confirmed it with the serial with svs) and it looked/sounded great.

Pretty stoked it's still under warranty until 7/21.

Thanks again for the advice guys.
